A couple of past & present MSGC awardees were spotted in a recent WMU News article for their work on electric propulsion. Dr. Kristina Lemmer and WMU Graduate Student, Margaret Mooney talk about how their research is being used for NASA as well as discuss Mooney’s path to a future in space research. Margaret Mooney was a 2018-2019 Graduate fellowship awardee whose project worked on the Interactions Between Iodine and Thermionic Emitting Insert Materials for the Design of Hollow Cathodes. Dr. Kristina Lemmer is not only a current Research Seed awardee, but has also been a keynote speaker at our annual Fall Conference. Lemmer’s current MSGC grant is contributing to her broad work on cathodes for electric propulsion.
